Cheap Ink Cartridges
Eh.
We don’t like the sound of that, but that’s how a lot of people find our site. Our site doesn’t really say cheap ink cartridges anymore, but people still end up here somehow. While it’s technically true that we have cheap ink, since our prices are low, we don’t have cheap ink - as in ink that isn’t high quality.
When we first started in this business, cheap ink was all that anyone ever searched for online. No one really knew anything about remanufactured cartridges or compatible cartridges, they just knew they wanted something that was cheaper than the OEM cartridges they found in Staples. So in the early days, tons of sites appeared hawking ink that was cheap in the truest sense - inexpensive and crappy.
Most of those sites disappeared and people looking to buy their ink online learned how to search better. Now they search for HP 56 ink or they enter their specific printer model. Frankly we are pretty good that most consumers have refined their searching methods and learned more about what products are available.
What search did you do to find Pacific Ink?

RE: Pacific Ink’s recent statement on the DELL 720 being popular-
other Printer users must be more easily satisfied than I imagined, but I expect Pacific Ink to be more exacting in what info it passes on. I am a regular buyer of your inks and very much appreciate what a good job you do. So, I must advise that the Dell 720 is the worst printer I have ever owned or used. heavier papers easily jam the machine. The Dellbrand inks tend to fade quickly and are over priced for the both the quality and the quantity. In addition, the Dell 720 lacks any self cleaning mechanism. I can own conclude that the purpose of its econimic distribution (sometimes free with the purchase of a Dell Computer) is to provide a captive market for its overpriced , infereior inks.

We are sorry for the confusion, but we were only reporting what the most popular printer on our site was, not endorsing that model. If you look around our site, we repeatedly recommend avoiding Dell printers. The main post featured in our newsletter plainly said “do not buy a Lexmark/Dell.” We understand that Dell printers are not the right choice for consumers, due to quality issues and the long-term costs of ownership.
You can check our Dell FAQ section for what we think:
Should I buy an Dell inkjet printer?
—————————————-
In our opinion, probably not. A lot of people purchase Dell printers when they buy computers, mostly because Dell is just giving them away, but not a lot of people know what they are getting. Dell printers are usually very expensive to operate and thus are not recommended.

Since you sell refill supplies, How about a starting a rating of the top 12 best printers for refilling. Maybe manufactures could be encouraged to compete on the value of their products.
I am looking to buy a printer and I have to go from site to site to try to figure out which printer is going to give me the lowest cost per page.

I searched for “printer ink comparison” and got your site. My 2nd Epson multifunction just died due to a clogged tube in the printer head area. I like Epson for scanning and am lured by their “DuraBrite Inks” for longevity (I am a scrapbooker). I was hoping to find info about how long each brank of ink was purported to last without fading, etc. Have you ever done a comparison on that?
