Dell to Sell Color Laser Printers in Japan
Dell is moving into a new market as they announced they would be selling their color laser printers in Japan at about half of what everyone else charges. Selling them for half as much sounds pretty crazy, but Dell is known for undercutting their competitors on certain products, so maybe they will actually try it. According to the article, Dell will be selling a printer that is $770 compared with the normal price tag of almost $1700.
This is big news for other printer manufacturers because in Japan, the market for color laser printers has been growing by 20% every year. Right now the big boys over there are Ricoh, Canon, Konica Minolta and Epson. It shows how different the market is over there that Ricoh is on top of that list and HP is nowhere to be found.

The Japanese market is all set to change. Dell is all geared up to break the jinx. Japan is a market where Asian brands rule. Konica and Minolta never show up among the top 10 big sellers. The overpricing of the printers is also a reason why they do not make it to the top 10. Dell has decided to give the winners in the Japanese printer market a run for their money. In Japan, the average color laser is $1700. Dell is all set to upset the market with a price tag of around $700. Thats a big difference! Lets see how the customers reacts to this.

Oh! Something different is genuinely going to happen in the Japanese market. If somebody asks my opinion, I would definitely say, that, Dell is seriously trying a somewhat different way to take up the market of Japan for color laser printers by undercutting the price from $1700 to $770. I think it’s a great business policy from Dell’s part.
